Beginnings are hard. But clarity is harder.

A blinking cursor on a blank page doesn’t just represent a lack of words.
It represents a decision.

What will people think?
What do you want to stand for?
And more importantly… what do you want people to remember?

For me, this space has been a long time coming.

1. Why this, why now

I’ve spent the last several years leading AI strategy and generative AI product initiatives inside a large, complex organization.

And I’ve noticed something that doesn’t get talked about enough:

AI isn’t failing because of the technology.
It’s failing because of how we’re introducing it to people.

We’re pushing urgency.
We’re pushing efficiency.
We’re pushing transformation.

But we’re not giving people purpose.

So this Substack is my attempt to explore that gap.

Not from the outside looking in—but from inside the work:

  • The tension between ambition and adoption

  • The reality behind “AI transformation” narratives

  • And what it actually takes to make AI stick inside organizations

2. What kind of community are you looking to build here

During my time at Asurion, I became known as “the AI guy.”

The one studying trends.
Reading everything.
Always tracking what was coming next.

I started sharing a fraction of what I was learning in an internal Slack channel I created called Generative AI.

At first, it was small—just a handful of people.
Then dozens.
Then hundreds.

By the time I left, more than 600 employees were following, sharing, and engaging in that space.

Was it overwhelming at times? Absolutely.
But it also became something more than I expected.

It became a place where people could:

  • Ask questions without feeling behind

  • Share ideas without needing to be experts

  • Make sense of a rapidly changing space—together

And even though building that community was never my “job,” it became something I thought about every day.

When I came across something meaningful—a new capability, a shift in thinking, a real application—I didn’t just consume it.
I saved it.
I translated it.
I shared it.

Because the goal was never just to learn.

The goal was to bring people along with me.

So what kind of community am I trying to build here?

The same kind.

A space for people who are:

  • Trying to keep up—but also make sense of what matters

  • Looking to go deeper than headlines and hype

  • Wanting to apply AI in real ways, not just talk about it

I care deeply about this space.
And I want to share that curiosity, that learning, and that perspective with others—
in a way that helps you level up, stay grounded, or even just feel less behind.

If you’re building, leading, questioning, or even struggling with AI in your organization—you’ll fit here.

I’m not interested in hype cycles.
I’m interested in honest conversations.

3. What to expect

I’ll keep this simple and consistent:

Frequency:

  • I will shoot for 1–2 posts per week, but I am new to writing. Some of this is a wait and see for me.

Topics you’ll see:

  • AI strategy that actually works in practice

  • Adoption challenges (and what’s really behind them)

  • Frameworks for leaders navigating AI transformation

  • Real-world lessons from inside large-scale operations

  • Occasional contrarian takes on where AI is headed
